Interviews will take place Aug. 2 for the Kansas Court of Appeals position opening up with the retirement of Judge Anthony Powell.
Kristen Wheeler, the daughter of Lyon County Chief Judge Merlin Wheeler, is among 11 candidates for the post. She will interview first at 9 am.
This is Kristen Wheeler’s third time as an applicant for a Court of Appeals position. She has also applied for the Kansas Supreme Court after Carol Beier retired and was a finalist.
