The Kansas City Chiefs held their first full-squad training camp practice Wednesday morning.
Coach Andy Reid called it a good first day.
Safety Justin Reid, who was signed during the off-season, says there is a lot to learn.
Receiver Ju Ju Smith-Schuster, who was also signed during the off-season, says the Chiefs offensive keeps him involved.
Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was at practice and going thru drills. It was reported earlier that he was placed on the physically unable to perform list according to Tuesday’s NFL Transactions report. Coach Andy Reid said Clyde Edwards-Helaire cleared testing and is off the PUP list officially. Defensive end Frank Clark was ill this morning but came in for the end of practice.
The Chiefs and Travis Kelce have come to an agreement on an adjusted contract that will give him a raise in 2022. Kansas City is moving money from the back of Kelce’s deal to now to better compensate the tight end. Kelce is currently under contract through 2025. But 2022 is the last year of guaranteed money on the four-year, $57 million extension he signed just before the 2020 season.
