Preliminary hearings are coming in September for two men accused in last week’s alleged shooting at Emporia’s Eastgate Plaza apartment complex.
On Wednesday, Judge Doug Jones set Sept. 14 as the hearing date for Shedrick Williams, age 27, and Keno Hopkins, age 21. Both men are accused of single counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, burglary and aggravated robbery after the alleged incident, where one man was allegedly shot and taken to Newman Regional Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emporia Police are still investigating and Lyon County Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for new information that helps to further the investigation.
