Advance voting is coming to an end soon for the primary election cycle.
Early voting continues until 5 pm Friday and then goes from 8 am to noon Monday. In Lyon County, over 1,600 people have voted in person, whether at the Courthouse or the offsite event at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. County Clerk Tammy Vopat says over 440 of the 765 mail ballots have also been returned, meaning the county’s turnout as of Friday morning is 7 percent.
The primary election is Tuesday from 7 am to 7 pm. Vopat will be KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 guest at 8:20 am Monday and KVOE will have election results and reactions shortly after the polls close Tuesday evening.
