The Chicago White Sox outscored the Kansas City Royals 4-1 Wednesday afternoon.
The White Sox scored a run in the first inning and added 3 runs in the 3rd inning while holding the Royals to 1 run on 4 hits. Bobby Witt Jr hit his 15th home run of the season in the 6th inning.
Royals Manager Mike Matheny they just could not get the big hit.
The Royals return to Kansas City to begin a 4 game series with the Boston Red Sox Thursday night.
Before Wednesday’s game, the Royals called up infielder Michael Massey from Omaha and catcher Sebastian Rivero from Northwest Arkansas.
They also moved pitcher Angel Zerpa to the 60-day injury list.
The Kansas City Royals announced that infielder Nicky Lopez and right-handed pitcher Brady Singer have been named Royals Player and Pitcher for the Month of July
