(ESU) The Emporia State women’s soccer team will begin the season nationally ranked.
The Lady Hornets are ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason National poll.
The Hornets are set to return their top four scorers from last season’s team that won the MIAA Tournament Championship led by All-American Mackenzie Dimarco, along with All-Region performers Hannah Woolery and Aislinn Hughes and All-MIAA defender Joanie Westcoat.
The Lady Hornets are scheduled to open their season on August 26th at West Texas A&M.
Their home opener will be on September 11th against Fort Hays State.
Central Missouri is the only other MIAA team ranked in the top 25 at number 6.
