Last week’s rainfall did nothing to blunt the moderate drought now in effect across most of the KVOE listening area.
The US Drought Monitor’s latest weekly report has moderate drought along and south of a line involving Council Grove and US Highway 56 in Lyon County, as well as southwest Osage County. Abnormally dry conditions are north of that line.
Most of the KVOE listening area got over two inches of rainfall. Southeastern Wabaunsee County is still abnormally dry despite the Harveyville area getting over five inches of rain last week.
