Heat advisories for the entire listening area have been extended once again.
Advisories now go until 8 pm Sunday for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties and until 7 pm Sunday for Chase and Greenwood counties. High temperatures are forecasted to be right around 100 degrees Saturday with heat index readings as high as 105 possible.
Conditions won’t improve much Sunday with highs still near 100 degrees, however, showers and thunderstorms will enter the forecast Sunday evening. Storm chances will continue through the majority of the upcoming work week with temperatures in the low to mid 90s forecasted.
