One person was injured and two cars totaled after a two-vehicle collision in west Emporia.
The accident occured at the intersection of West 15th and Industrial Road just before 4:50 pm. According to Emporia Police, a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Industrial and preparing to turn east onto 15th.
At the same time, a northbound Ford Fusion entered the intersection and the two vehicles collided head on. The Ford was redirected into a retaining wall in front of Walgreens while the Honda spun, changed direction and came to a stop facing west on the grass of Industrial Park 1.
The driver of the Ford, an unnamed female, was taken by ambulance to Newman with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda, an unnamed male, declined medical treatment.
Names are not being released. All involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Westbound traffic on 15th was blocked for close to an hour as both vehicles were removed from the scene.
