The young ones served notice at the Emporia City Golf Championships.
Brooks Sauder, who just graduated from Emporia High, won the Men’s City Championship. He finished the 2-day tournament at 1 under par after his 69 Sunday at the Emporia Golf Course.
Brooks was also the low junior. He will be a freshman at Hutchinson Community College in the fall.
His high school teammate Caden Massey finished in 2nd place and Nolan Jacob finished in 3rd place.
Eli Fowler won the A Flight. Glen Schmidt won the B Flight. Dan Bruch won the C Flight. Tom Robke was the low senior.
For the 3rd year in a row, Avary Eckert won the Womens City Golf Championship. The High School Senior to be shot back to back 76s for the win.
Her sister Olivia finished in 2nd place and her sister Elise finished in 3rd place. Avary said it was special to play with both of her sisters.
All 3 sisters will be on the Emporia High girls golf team this fall.
