Over two months after bringing one finalist to Emporia for an interview, the Emporia Public Library Board of Directors will bring a second candidate to town.
Pauline Stacchini, currently the managing librarian at Austin Public Library in Austin, Texas, will meet with the public as part of a forum at 10:30 am Wednesday. Stacchini will discuss her vision for the library and answer questions from the audience.
Stacchini lists time with the Dallas, Texas, Public Library before becoming managing librarian in Austin as part of her work experience. Her time in Emporia follows an interview in late May with Maggie McKiethan, currently the director of the Spring Lake District Library in Spring Lake, Michigan.
Current director Robin Newell announced her retirement effective in July, but she has continued as the library’s leader with a replacement not yet finalized.
Wednesday’s forum will be at the Emporia library.
