Emporia’s latest street improvement project will begin in two weeks.
According to City Communications Manager Christine Johnson, the city’s contractor will begin resurfacing work on Sixth Ave. from Prairie Street to Neosho Street beginning Aug. 22. Ahead of the official start of the project, the city will hold a public information meeting ahead at White Auditorium in Room 1AB at 6:30 pm next Tuesday.
All residents, property owners and business owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. The resurfacing work is part of the annual Kansas Department of Transportation CCLIP project.
The project is expected to take up to two months to complete weather permitting.
