The Kansas City Royals closed out their series against the Chicago White Sox with a 5-3 victory Thursday.
Vinnie Pasquantino hit a solo home run in the second inning. Nicky Lopez’s 2-run single and an RBI single for MJ Melendez made it 4-0. Michael A. Taylor’s single in the eighth inning was enough to hold on for the victory.
Zack Grienke was the winning pitcher going 6.1 innings, allowing nine hits with five strikeouts.
The Royals begin a three-game series on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
