Showers and thunderstorms didn’t result in severe weather activity Friday night into Saturday morning, but it did bring some much-needed rainfall to the listening area.
Storms began developing just before midnight Friday following sporadic rainfall throughout the day. Showers concluded just before sunrise Saturday and brought 1.10 inches of rainfall to the KVOE studios.

The listening area is expected to be mostly dry over the next several days with highs forecasted in the upper 80s to low 90s through much of the coming week. The next chance for rainfall comes Friday with a 20 percent chance of showers forecasted.
Friday and Saturday’s rainfall comes as most of the KVOE listening area, essentially between the US Highway 56 corridor and north of a line from Teterville to Burlington, is in moderate drought. Areas south of the Teterville-Burlington line are in severe drought. Areas north of US Highway 56 are abnormally dry.
