Things are about to get into full force beginning Saturday with the 2022 PDGA Professional World Championships.
Champions will be crowned Saturday in the Mixed Doubles Competition that’ll take place at Jones Park.
Dynamic Discs President and Tournament Director Doug Bjerkaas joined KVOE’s Morning Show on Friday to preview the event’s festivities.
Bjerkaas anticipates somewhere between 295 and 300 of “the best of the best” players participating.
The first round of the competition begins on Tuesday. Each player plays four rounds, two each at Jones Park and the Emporia Country Club. A cut will be made after Friday’s round to see which players move onto Saturday’s final round.
To purchase tickets, go to eventbrite.com and search Emporia and click 2022 PDGA Professional World Championships. Coverage of all rounds that are being streamed will air live on ValuNet Channel 3.
Previews and updates of the PDGA Championships will occur during the Newsmaker 2 segment Monday through Friday at 8:20 a.m.
