It was a rough day for the Emporia State volleyball team on the opening day of the Triton Classic in St. Louis Friday.
The Lady Hornets were defeated by Missouri – St. Louis 3 sets to 1. (18-25, 26-24, 14-25, 13-25).
Orianna Clements led Emporia State with 10 kills, Riley Bernskoetter added 21 assists and Megan Stretton finished with 14 digs.
The Lady Hornets were also defeated by St. Leo 3 sets to 1. (25-19, 20-25, 10-25, 17-25)
Shelby Ebert, Orianna Clements, and Leah Mach finished with 8 kills each.
Riley Bernskoetter added 17 assists and Megan Stretton finished with 21 digs.
The Lady Hornets will play Southern Arkansas and Missouri S&T Saturday.
