The San Diego Padres scored early and often on the way to a 13-5 win over the Kansas City Royals Friday night.
The Padres scored 3 runs in the 1st inning, added a run in the 2nd innings, and 2 more runs in the 3rd inning.
The Royals tried to rally scoring a run in the 3rd on a Salvador Perez single. They scored 4 runs in the 4th inning highlighted by Nick Pratos 2 run home run.
San Diego would put the game out of reach with a 4-run 7th inning.
The Royals and Padres play again Saturday evening. Daniel Lynch will be on the mound with the first pitch set for 6:10 pm.
