The KVOE listening area received more needed rainfall thanks to storm systems that developed late Saturday into early Sunday morning.
At the KVOE studios we received 1.2 inches of rainfall between Saturday and Sunday. Other totals:

1100 Block of Constitution: 1.3 inches
10th and Weaver: 1.5 inches
South Ave. and Sylvan: 1.4 inches
AREA:
Bushong: 1.63 inches
One mile southwest of Gridley: 3.4 inches
Three miles west of Americus: 2.15 inches
11 miles south of Hartford: 2.1 inches
Neosho Rapids: 1.10
Reading: 1.4 inches
Chances of rainfall continue through Monday with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms in the early afternoon hours and a 40 percent chance in the evening. Conditions will be mostly dry through the upcoming week into the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Saturday and Sunday’s rainfall follows the latest drought monitor report which indicates moderate drought is still in place across much of the KVOE listening area, essentially from the US Highway 56 corridor to a Teterville-to-Burlington line. Severe drought continues across most of Greenwood County and the southwest quarter of Coffey County.
