If you’re looking for the ultimate tailgating experience come game day, look no further than the campus of Emporia State University.
ESU is taking its pregame and postgame festivities to a whole new level with Live at the Hive, an updated and expanded version of the university’s previous pregame activities. Event spokesman Mike Law joined KVOE’s Morning Show Tuesday to discuss the new event.
He says Live at the Hive will include everything that tailgaters come to expect, and much more.
Following the end of the game, the party will continue with a “pop-up postgame party” at a different local establishment each home game. This week’s post-game party will be at the Bourbon Cowboy at 605 Commercial Street. Fans must be of age to attend the post-game party.
ESU Associate Athletics Director for External Operations Brett McLaughlin says the goal is to augment the gameday experience.
A VIP area will also be available with a meal catered by a different local restaurant each home game.
Live at the Hive will begin two and a half hours before every home game and will debut at ESU’s home opener Thursday evening. KVOE will broadcast from Live at the Hive.
