Residents hoping for more rainfall are likely disappointed.
Most of Monday saw a better-than-average chance of showers and thunderstorms for the entire KVOE listening area, but widespread coverage did not happen. Storms formed along Interstate 70 and dissipated as they got into Morris and Wabaunsee counties. Rainfall totals from those counties are pending.
Meanwhile, the KVOE studios had all of 0.10 inches of rainfall Monday into early Tuesday.
Residents got anywhere from 0.75 inches to over 2 inches of rain Saturday night into early Sunday. The next chance of rain areawide is a slight chance of showers and storms Friday night.
Rainfall is needed with most of the KVOE listening area in moderate or severe drought. The US Drought Monitor ends its weekly data collection Tuesdays, with new maps released Thursday mornings.
