Americus resident Brandi Nicole Snyder faces 15-30 years in federal prison if convicted of producing child pornography, as alleged by the US Department of Justice.
Snyder faces two counts of producing child porn, along with single counts of possession and distribution — with prison terms of five to 20 years on the distribution charge and up to 20 years in prison on the possession charge.
The court affidavit indicates federal investigators were made aware of illegal Snapchat activity on two different accounts after at least two “cybertips,” one this past November and one this past October, Those tips led to around 20 total images, as well as two videos revolving around prepubescent girls.
Snyder, age 34, is on the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s offender registry after she was convicted of a drug charge in 2010.
Snyder’s next court appearance is Sept. 7.

US Attorney for Kansas Duston Slinkard says 34-year-old Brandi Snyder is accused of “persuading and coercing a minor” to participate in child porn. She’s officially charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, production of child porn, as well as single counts of child pornography possession and distribution.
Homeland Security Investigations is investigating the case.
