Emporia Fire took no action after a reported grass fire near town Friday.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says the incident turned out to be a controlled burn.

Emporia Fire Crews are in the process of handling a grass fire just east of Emporia.
Crews were called to 1330 I-35 southbound between the Burlingame Road exit and Road R-1 for a reported grass fire just before 4 pm. Full details are currently pending.
