Bobby Witt Jrs double in the 8th inning drove in M J Melendez for the go-ahead run. That was his 24th go-ahead RBI, which ties him for 2nd place in the majors this season.
The Royals scored 2 runs in the 4th inning Michael A Taylor scored on a Nicky Lopez single. and M J Melendez walked with the bases loaded.
The Tigers tied the game with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th.
Dylan Coleman, the 5th pitcher used by the Royals, earned the win. Scott Barlow picked up his 21st save.
The Royals begin a 3 game series with the Cleveland Guardians Monday night. Brady Singer will be the starting pitcher with the first pitch set for 7:10 pm.
