In the 10th inning, Cleveland scored 2 runs and the Royals managed to score 1 run.
Royals Manager Mike Matheny said he liked the way they battled.
The Royals and Guardians play again Tuesday night. Kris Bubic will be the starting pitcher for the Royals with the first pitch set for 7:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:30 pm.
