Emporia city commissioners have a lot of budgetary matters ahead for their meeting Wednesday morning.
In their action session, commissioners will have a public hearing before possibly approving paperwork to exceed the state’s revenue-neutral rate. There will also be a public hearing on both the 2023 budget and 5-year budget before a vote to adopt both documents.
Commissioners may also authorize general obligation bonds for a sewer main project on South Arundel and award a bid for renovating the David Traylor Zoo parking lot. One executive session is planned.
Following the action meeting is a study session. The only discussion point listed is talk on fire stations, a concern at both headquarters and Station 2 in part because of the age and size of both locations.
The action meeting begins at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study meeting will begin shortly after the action session is completed.
