COVID-19 numbers continue at somewhat elevated levels in the latest report from Lyon County Public Health.
The agency reported 85 cases, down slightly from the 93 announced Aug. 31 but on par with the weekly numbers announced for roughly a month. Deaths remained flat at 125.
Lyon County is now at 11,309 total cases for the pandemic, almost three times the number of Osage County, the area county with the next-highest total of over 4,300. Chase County has the lowest total at under 750.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says COVID transmission rates are moderate for Lyon and most surrounding counties. Transmission rates are currently low in Chase County.
