USD 253 Emporia Public Schools is ending its practice of mailing or emaling parents of COVID-19 exposure in their children’s classrooms.
The change is effective immediately. The Community Relations Department says it’s shifting its notification policy to “align fully with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.” Guidance from both the state and federal agencies says contact tracing and notifications are no longer needed.
Emporia Public Schools says it will keep the district website, www.usd253.org, current with updates on county COVID levels and board-approved COVID policies and procedures.
