Runners from across Kansas had their eyes on the Emporia Invitational Saturday morning at Jones Park.
EHS fielded full teams for the meet and had two medalists. Micah Sheffy-Harris led the Spartan girls with a 13th-place finish and a time of 20:22.
Allison Curtis missed a medal by one spot and finished 21st with a time of 20:58.50. Elizabeth Willhite was 45th (22:14.40) and Maryn True took 47th (22:19.10).
On the boys side, Daghyn True led the Spartans with an 18th-place finish and a time of 16:53.10. He says it was a tough race with great runners all around him.
Eli Hauff finished 43rd (18:09.90) and Gideon Lowery was 44th (18:12.50).
In the team standings, the Spartan girls were seventh while the Spartan boys were eighth. Kapaun Mt. Carmel swept the team championships.
EHS will next travel to Baldwin City for the Baldwin Invitational.
