The 19th annual Didde Catholic Campus Center Homemade Pan-Fired taco sale fundraiser managed to bring in just over $2,100 for Emporia State University students Wednesday.
The sale is one of the campus center’s largest annual fundraisers each year and one that sees a heavy turnout both from the community and volunteers. Among those helping Wednesday was Diddie Financial Assistant Vickie Walworth.
Walworth says the campus center is a “home away from home” for students making the staff a “family away from family.”
Father Matt Nagle says it is important for students to know they have the support and a place of their own.
According to Walworth, the taco sale brought in a preliminary total of $2,100 with final totals pending. She says the center still has plenty of tacos on hand that they will be selling after mass on Sunday.
If you would like to purchase tacos in advance you can contact the center by calling 620-343-6765. The cost of a dozen tacos is $10.
