Summer-time heat continues Tuesday across the KVOE listening area.
After high temperatures of 100 degrees both Sunday and Monday, the current forecast calls for 101 Tuesday. Peak heat index readings could be as high as 103.
Monday’s high just missed the record of 101 in 1954, but Tuesday’s high would easily break the current record of 96 degrees set in 1955. Sunday’s 100-degree day broke the previous mark of 96 degrees set in 1954.
A cold front Wednesday brings more seasonal temperatures with a high of 90 degrees along with a chance of showers and storms, although no severe weather is expected. Thursday will see more rain chances and highs in the mid-60s before high temperatures climb back into the 80s as soon as Friday.
