The driver of a car that bumped over a stoplight in downtown Emporia on Tuesday was cited afterward.
Emporia Police Capt. Ray Mattas says 60-year-old Rebecca Peres was cited for careless driving after the incident at Seventh and Commercial. Peres says the sun was in her eyes when the incident happened.
Southbound traffic was blocked for about 15 minutes while the stoplight was cleared. Nobody was hurt.
It may take up to six mmonths for replacement parts to come to Emporia, depending on the situation.

10 am Tuesday: Traffic back to normal after downtown Emporia stoplight downed in low-speed crash
Traffic is back to normal in downtown Emporia after a crash knocked over a stoplight Tuesday morning.
Early indications are a vehicle at least bumped into the stoplight directing southbound traffic at Seventh and Commercial, knocking it to the ground. Social media video indicates a car bumped the stoplight at low speed.
No injuries were reported. The stoplight has not been replaced and there is currently no word on when it will be.

Southbound traffic will be diverted for a good part of Tuesday morning after an apparent crash in downtown Emporia.
Early indications are a vehicle at least bumped into the stoplight directing southbound traffic at Seventh and Commercial, knocking it to the ground.
Southbound traffic is now being detoured at Eighth. Northbound traffic is currently unaffected, as is westbound traffic on Seventh. Eastbound traffic is currently allowed past the stoplight, but that will likely be detoured at Merchant on Tuesday morning.
