The Kansas City Royals were winners Wednesday night outscoring the Minnesota Twins 5-2. MJ Melendez started the scoring with a leadoff home run in the 1st inning, his 17th home run of the season. Bobby Witt Jr, Salvador Perez and Edward Olivares also drove in runs for the Royals.
The Royals and Twins wrap up their season series Thursday afternoon. Jonathan Heasley will be on the mound for the Royals with the first pitch set or 1:10 pm.
