The Kansas State High School Activities Association released its new classifications Friday morning.
Emporia High remains in Class 5A with an enrollment of 1,279. EHS is the third largest school in Class 5A behind Hutchinson, which dropped down from 6A to 5A, and Maize.
No area schools changed classifications.
Council Grove and Burlington remain in Class 3A.
Mission Valley, Northern Heights, Chase County, and Lyndon remain in Class 2A.
Olpe, Madison, Lebo, and Hartford remain Class 1A schools.
Notable statewide changes have Mill Valley moving up to 6A from 5A. Hugoton moves up from 3A to 4A and Cair Paravel moves up from 1A to 2A.
