The Emporia State volleyball team was defeated by Newman 3 sets to 1 Saturday.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-23. Newman would win the next 3 sets 25-23, 25-12, and 25-18 to win the match.
Leah Mach led the offense with 13 kills and the defense with 22 digs.
The Emporia State volleyball team falls to 4-11 for the season and 1-5 in MIAA play. They will travel to Pittsburg State this coming Friday.
