After receiving a trio of grants for operations, advocacy and outreach earlier this month, SOS is receiving additional grant funding.
The Kansas Attorney General’s Office is announcing $125,000 in grant funds for a variety of programs:
*Nearly $45,000 will provide supervised child visitation and monitored exchange services
*Nearly $43,000 will offset operating expenses for the domestic violence and sexual assault center
*Over $17,000 goes to support services in both English and Spanish based on child needs and developmental stages
*Over $16,000 will help to recruit, screen, train and supervise volunters in the Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA program
*4,000 will help with operating expenses for the Children’s Advocacy Center
The grant awards come from several funds, including the Protection from Abuse Fund, State Child Exchange and Visitation Centers Fund, State Crime Victims’ Assistance Fund, State Crime Victims Assistance Fund for Child Abuse and Neglect and the Children’s Advocacy Centers Fund.
This follows over $285,000 in operational funding as announced by the Office of Kansas Governor two weeks ago.
