4 people with ties to Emporia were inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame Sunday night.
Clint Bowyer became the first race car driver to be inducted.
Bowyer said being one of 4 people with ties to Emporia to be inducted was special.
Former Olpe High School Girls basketball coach Jesse Nelson.
Former Emporia State basketball player Emily Bloss Carpenter.
Former Emporia State basketball player Tara Holloway Churchill.
Former KU mens basketball coach Roy Williams was also part of the induction class.
