The Emporia Eastside Community Group’s Fish Fry is happening Saturday.
The event will take place at the Emporia Recreation Center at 313 W. 4th Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees have the choice to dine-in or carry-out.
Organizer Al Slappy joined the KVOE Morning Show on Thursday to break down the menu.
Proceeds from the fish fry will help the group give out scholarships to Emporia High School graduates who choose to attend the Flint Hills Technical College Nursing program or Emporia State University.
Slappy added community involvement plays a factor into who will receive the scholarship.
The group’s scholarship returns after three years due to donations being down.
