The Emporia Granada Theatre is hosting a monster of a fundraising concert this weekend.
Big Head Todd and the Monsters are set to take over the Granada stage Saturday night. Formed in 1984 the band has toured the world with their unique sound of rock, folk, blues and jazz. Since forming the band has released multiple studio albums with their 1993 album Sister Sweetly going platinum in the US.
Interim Granada Theatre Director Stacey Schneider says they have been looking forward to this show for some time.
This won’t be the first trip to Emporia for Big Head Todd as he has familial ties to the community. He is the grandson of Jarvis and Anna Burch who lived in Emporia until their passing.
Interim Granada Director Stacey Schneider says anytime a band has some tie to the community, it makes the event all the more enjoyable.
The concert is a fundraiser for the Granada Theatre and will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are still available ranging from $20 to $60.
You can purchase tickets online at Emporiagranada.com or at the Granada Box Office at 802 Commercial Street.
