The Lyon County History Center has a new kids zone that has reopened to the public.
Saturday was the grand reopening and renaming of the Loretto Langley Exploratorium.
Lyon County History Center Deputy Director Lisa Soller says this has been in the works for several years.
The renovated space located on the second floor of the Lyon County History Center has something that is suitable that kids and parents according to Executive Director Greg Jordan.
The space wouldn’t be possible without multiple donors like the Loretto Langley Trust Fund, who spearheaded the idea for the space. Donations were also made possible by Bill and Aloha Preston Trust, the Emporia Rotary Club, Amy Heineken, Earl and Stelouise Sauder Youth Assistance Fund, and the St. Patrick’s Day Committee.
However, the space is still going to be receiving some funds soon as it’ll be a part of the Emporia Community Foundation’s Match Day on Nov. 14. Soller says funds from Match Day will be well used.
Anyone interested in visiting the Loretto Langley Exploratorium can visit during the History Center’s regular hours, which are Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
