There is a better than average chance of rainfall across the KVOE listening area late Tuesday night.
Showers and embedded thunderstorms appear likely from midnight to shortly before sunrise. The National Weather Service expects 0.50 inches or less in most spots, although some areas could see up to an inch — not nearly enough to put a dent into the current drought, which varies from moderate to extreme north to south.
Storms that develop also bring a marginal risk of severe weather, specifically hail and wind.
Blustery conditions will precede the storm chance, elevating the fire danger to at least very high levels Tuesday afternoon. Fire danger will be elevated Wednesday and Thursday as well.
