A man initially accused of trying to rob an Emporia convenience store before accepting a plea arrangement on another charge will spend nearly a year and a half in prison.
Lyon County Chief Judge Jeff Larson sentenced Darren Hutcherson to 16 months as part of a hearing Tuesday.
Hutcherson was initially charged with attempted robbery after an incident at Max’s BP in downtown Emporia in early March. He then accepted a no-contest plea on a count of attempted aggravated assault in August.
