The Salvation Army food pantry has seen an increase in people who use the pantry but now supplies are getting tight for certain items as KVOE’s annual Drive for Food approaches.
During the last month, Salvation Army has been able to continue supplying clients with the items they need but now are in need of donations of proteins, greens, and canned food, which are seeing more demand than other items.
Food pantry manager Brian Shintaku says they are running low on certain proteins like peanut butter but they can offer clients other proteins they have in more quantity like frozen meat so they can still supply their needs.
A way people can help the Salvation Army food pantry is by donating non-perishable food to KVOE’s 21st Annual Drive for Food on Oct. 20th. Message your address to 620-342-5863 or email hartere@kvoe.com by Oct. 19. Then, leave donations on your porch so KVOE’s team of staff and volunteers can go and pick up the donations.
