A jury trial is now on the docket in a federal case allegedly involving child sexual abuse materials and a Lyon County woman.
Brandi Snyder of Americus is set for trial beginning Nov. 7 at the federal courthouse in Wichita. A status hearing is planned Monday before presiding US District Judge John Broomes.
Snyder faces two counts of producing child sexual abuse materials, along with single counts of possession and distribution. A court affidavit indicates federal investigators were made aware of illegal Snapchat activity on two different accounts after at least two “cybertips,” one this past November and one this past October, Those tips led to around 20 total images, as well as two videos revolving around prepubescent girls.
Snyder faces 15-30 years in federal prison if convicted of producing child sex abuse materials. as well as up to 20 years each on the possession and distribution counts.
