Coach Self says the experienced players will need to lead the younger players.
Kansas State returns only 2 players from last year’s team, Markquis Nowell and Ismael Massoud.
Kansas State Coach Jerome Tang says he likes the progress they have made in building the team.
Coach Tang said there were 3 qualities they were looking for in a player when they began recruiting the team.
The Big 12 preseason poll was released last week. Kansas was picked 2nd and Kansas State 10th.
