Today I’m pleased to introduce you to Chris Mann, the Attorney General of Kansas candidate I’ll be voting for in November.
Chris Mann is running for Attorney General to focus on law enforcement, not politics.
Chris knew early he wanted to serve his community deciding while at KU to follow his father into law enforcement shortly before he graduated.
As an officer, he had observed the tragedy of drunk driving firsthand before experiencing it as a victim by being struck by a drunk driver during a routine traffic stop. The result of the accident ended Chris’ career in uniform.
After years of battling both physical and emotional trauma Chris realized he could continue to fight crime as an attorney sending him to school at Washburn’s School of Law.
Chris Mann became a prosecutor in the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office handling cases everywhere from DUI’s to murder. During this time he started volunteering with MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving serving as its Board Chair in 2011.
Chris led the charge for changes in Kansas DUI laws including requiring interlocks for all DUI offenders.
Eventually, Mann joined MADD’ s National Board where again, he served as their chairman.
In 2014 he became a prosecutor for the Kansas Securities Commission protecting consumers, especially seniors, from white-collar crimes.
During the Catholic Year of Mercy Chris followed his faith by providing legal services for underserved Kansans.
In 2016 Chris with encouragement from his wife opened Mann Law firm to provide legal services for clients who could not afford an attorney. In 2019 the practice was expanded to focus on representing victims of drunk driving.
Chris Mann not only has a deep understanding of the laws of Kansas but also would bring a working knowledge of law enforcement to the office he seeks – truly a unique combination that should not be ignored!
Chris and his wife Ashley, a surgeon, live in Lawrence with their two children Skylar (7) and William (3).
Please remember this: Chris Mann wants to be attorney general to focus on law enforcement, not politics.
