Interviews are coming next month as Morris County District Court fills a judge position.
The 8th District Nominating Commission has announced Nov. 18 as the interview day. Interviews will take place at the Morris County Courthouse.
The position is opening as Judge Margaret White retires. Nominees are Morris County Attorney Laura Viar, Tiptoz Dance Company owner and Chief Financial Officer Jay Troxell and Morris County Detective Sgt. Ryan Young.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly will appoint her choice later. The timetable for that decision hasn’t been announced.
Separately, the 4th District Nominating Commission met earlier this week to discuss its new magistrate position, among several judge posts created earlier this year.
