In-office advance voting inside of the Lyon County Courthouse is now underway ahead of the general election next month.
According to Lyon County Election Officer Tammy Vopat, turnout has been steady since the office opened Monday morning, similar to the turnout seen during the primary election. Vopat says 75 individuals had stopped in to cast their votes by 2 pm Monday.
She continues to tout the issues on the ballot as one of the key factors driving residents to the polls.
With voting now underway inside, the courthouse is deemed a polling site and as such Vopat offered residents a brief reminder of state electioneering laws.
Voters need to bring a valid ID in order to cast their ballots. For those wishing to receive a mail ballot, the deadline is Nov. 1. The general election is Nov. 8.
Polls will open at 7 am and close at 7 pm. KVOE will have complete election coverage shortly after the polls close.
