Bond and a preliminary hearing have both been set for a suspect in a Lyon County attempted murder case.
37-year-old Logan Casteel had his first court appearance in Lyon County District Court Tuesday afternoon following his arrest by local law enforcement Monday morning. During the hearing, Judge Doug Jones set Casteel’s bond at $150,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for 2 pm Dec. 7.
Casteel is facing one count of attempted first-degree murder with an alternate count of aggravated battery. Casteel has been accused of trying to kill Fredonia resident Justin Smith Oct. 17 at 625 Road 160.
