CareArc is now offering bivalent COVID-19 vaccinations for children.
The health center announced Wednesday it has begun distributing the booster vaccines for pediatric patients from five to 11 years old. Both Moderna and Pfizer vaccinations are available and will target two Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5.
The variants are considered the two most contagious COVID variants accounting for nearly 90 percent of cases in the United States to date. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending the bivalent vaccine be administered at least two months after a patient’s most recent vaccination.
The primary series of vaccines are also still available for those six months and older. Both bivalent and monovalent boosters are available Monday through Thursday.
Adult Moderna vaccinations are available Mondays, pediatric Moderna boosters for those six years and older will be available Tuesdays, adult Pfizer vaccinations are available Wednesdays and pediatric Pfizer vaccinations are available Thursdays.
