The Emporia State volleyball team was defeated by Missouri Southern in 4 sets Wednesday night.
Southern won the first set 25-21. Emporia State won the 2nd set 25-15. In the 3rd set Southern jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Emporia State battled back to take an 18-15 lead before Southern closed out the set on a 10-3 run for a 25-21 win.
Southern won the 4th set 25-22. The set featured 7 ties and 3 lead changes. Southern used a 5-1 run to close out the match.
Emporia State Coach Bing Xu said they needed to be more aggressive.
The Emporia State volleyball will celebrate senior night when they host Pittsburg State Thursday evening. The first serve is set for 5 pm at White Auditorium.
